Exmouth farmers market - 9.00am-1.30pm

6th November 2013

Exmouth Farmers Market is located in the newly-redeveloped Strand Gardens in the centre of Exmouth. Ample car parking, the railway and bus stations, bus stops and taxi ranks are all located adjacent to or no more than a five minute walk from the market .

The market is held throughout the year on alternate Wednesdays, and weekly on Wednesdays from June to September.

Now in its tenth successful year, the market  was established in 2003 so that local producers of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, agriculture, horticulture and home-made foods such as bread, pies and cakes could offer their produce to local people in a traditional outdoor market setting. Many foods are brought to market by two different traders so as to improve customer choice.

All producers aim to provide highest quality, local foods whose provenance and traceability is unparalleled, and which keep ‘food-miles’ to a minimum. The vast majority of stall-holders have been directly involved in producing the foods they offer to our loyal and growing customer base. All are only too happy to answer customers’ questions about production methods such as organic and free-range conditions, storeability, preparation and cooking, and so on.

Many producers have supported the market for years, but new producers join the market all the time. In this way the range of goods on offer is both reliable, dynamic and increasingly comprehensive.

Independent restaurants, cafes and shops cluster around Strand Gardens, and the town’s main shopping streets are only a short walk away.
